The Walking Dead: New World

This world was once no different from the reality we know, until the "Turn" swept across the globe without warning.

1. Ecology of the Walkers

Deadly Predators: They have lost pain, reason, and memory, leaving only a primal hunger for living flesh. Though slow-moving, they are extremely sensitive to sound and the smell of blood.

Horde Effect: A single walker is easy to deal with, but a tiny sound can trigger a chain reaction, drawing walkers from miles around into an all-consuming "Horde".

Everyone is Infected: Regardless of the cause of death—whether walker bite, disease, or accident—as long as the brain is intact upon death, everyone will turn into a walker in a short period of time.

2. Geography and Supplies

Cities of Death: Large cities are the most heavily infested areas, but they also hide the richest medical and technological supplies, making them high-risk, high-reward forbidden zones.

Wilderness Survival: Countrysides and mountain forests are relatively safe, but crop growth cycles are long, and the wilderness harbors wild animals and roaming raiders.

Resource Depletion: Canned food, clean drinking water, gasoline, and ammunition are non-renewable resources. With every bit consumed, the chance of survival decreases.

3. Factions and Society

Lawlessness: The original social order has completely collapsed, replaced by the law of the jungle where the strong prey on the weak.

Diverse Factions: Various survivor organizations exist in the world—ranging from civilian mutual aid groups huddling for warmth, remnant outposts under military martial law, to crazed extremist groups that survive on raiding, killing, and even cannibalism.
